Meet Bones.

cutest

She’s a Lab/Welsh corgi mix.  Her full name is Dr. Temperance ‘Bones’ Brennan, from the TV show Bones.  She’s currently 4 1/2 months old.

We picked her out yesterday from the Humane Society.  Four of her siblings were also there (all very cute), and one of her brothers was adopted while we were adopting her!

When we brought her home, she enjoyed sniffing and exploring, but didn’t know how to go up or down the stairs!  She was trapped on whatever level we put her on!  This morning, however, she learned how to go up and down, so she is quickly growing more independent.

Her favorite things to do right now are playing outside (she loves snow!), staring at her reflection in the dishwasher and oven (and occasionally barking at that other puppy in there!), and playing with her toys.  She picked one of them out herself at Petco last night [the goose].

She’s also learning some new tricks (besides being able to go up & down the stairs):  she figured out how to jump on the couch and brought me David’s shoe from the front door.  Both of those tricks received a “NO!” in response, so hopefully she doesn’t keep those up.

I think this is Bones’ way of telling us that we should stop taking pictures of her!

She’s so cute! So do you guys have to go through the adventure of house-training her? You should rent the Dog Whisperer TV episodes on DVD–they’re really great for learning how to discipline. I unfortunately know more than I should about dog training after living with Oliver a.k.a. Mr. Severe Separation Anxiety. Good luck!
