David and I have some exciting news…

we’re having a baby!!

Since I’m paranoid (maybe cautious is a better word?), I decided we could finally tell people…after hearing the heartbeat twice, just to make sure!
Right now I’m 13 1/2 weeks, due February 5, 2011!

 I should be due February 4, but somehow my ‘day 1’ was switched
from April 30 to May 1 at some point…oh well.
And yes, I did feel the need to see it for myself and took a home test
after I got the call from the nurse that my blood test was positive.
The ‘pregnant’ line showed up instantly!

We found out the end of May, when I was 3 1/2 weeks along.  Because I’d been seeing a specialist, I had a blood test just before 4 weeks, a follow-up test 3 days later (after which we told our immediate family), and a confirmatory ultrasound at 6 1/2 weeks!  (I love the doctor…or so it seems with the amount of time I’ve spent there since March!)

There’s a baby here…really!  It’s the white blob above the bubble.

I made it through the first trimester with zero morning sickness, which I had somewhat been expecting since my mom felt great through her pregnancies.  Thank you, Bjerkaas genes!

On to the belly shots…fantastic.
