…mine just happens to be right! Um, literally. Everyone is blogging about the election, so I thought I’d add my 2 cents.
Basically, if you know me, you know where I stand. If you don’t, here are 2 clues:
1. When I was 5 (1988 election-Bush), I knew whoever was running against George HW Bush was for abortion. I knew that abortion was something about killing babies, and I had a new baby brother, so I figured he’d kill my brother if he was elected.
2. When I was 9 (1992 election-Clinton), I was convinced the world would end if Clinton was elected. Apparently it didn’t, but he lost in our school election. In fact, Ross Perot even got more votes than him!! (13 for Perot, 10 for Clinton, the others were all for Bush. Pretty sure I told everyone that if they voted for Clinton, the world was going to end, and they believed me!)
Anyway, the election may not have turned out the way I would have preferred, but I think it helps a lot to remember that nothing surprises God. He knew the outcome of the election and will continue to work regardless of who’s President. And I do have to admit that having a President who’s black definitely shows how far the country’s come as a whole since even just 50 years ago. It’ll be an interesting 4 years, that’s for sure.
